Our Career Planning Program helps individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities explore their interests, strengths, skills, and employment goals.
Participants typically complete five two-hour sessions with a dedicated job coach.
The Career Planning Process
Meet Your Job Coach: Discuss your goals, interests, strengths, and work preferences.
Complete a Sensory Checklist: Identify the environments and supports that help you feel comfortable and succeed.
Complete Career Assessments: Explore your interests, abilities, work preferences, and support needs.
Choose a Career Direction: Select a career area that matches your interests, strengths, and goals.
Create a Skills Plan: Identify the skills you already have and the skills you would like to develop.
Next Steps:
After completing the program, participants move forward with the services that best support their goals:
Supported Employment: Individualized job development, placement, and on-the-job coaching.
Prevocational Program: Skill-building and work-readiness support before entering competitive employment.

I can’t imagine what our lives would be like without The Arc. They provide everything we could need or hope for, for our daughter. They know where we need to go and how we need to get there so that we can help Dani have the best life!
