What We Do

Achieve with Us

With the selfless dedication of staff and volunteers and donations from people like you, The Arc of Monmouth remains the largest provider of vital I/DD resources, services, and support in Monmouth County.

Meeting the need

The Arc of Monmouth fills the gap by providing services that meet the basic needs of our participants, including supported housing, healthcare, case management, support for caregivers and families, life skills training, social and emotional support, and independent living programs.

Yet, meeting basic needs is not enough…

Improving lives

The Arc has long recognized that people with I/DD deserve the opportunity to live full and productive lives in their communities and beyond. That’s why we offer a host of enrichment services and activities to promote learning, wellness, companionship, and fun. These programs include recreation, sports, education, arts and crafts, and life skills.

Helping with education and employment

For some participants, living a fulfilling life means enjoying the benefits that only come with meaningful employment and further education. Unfortunately, these opportunities are also rarely available to people with I/DD in the wider community. The Arc of Monmouth, therefore, builds bridges to college education and employment opportunities.

We provide specialized vocational training to prepare our participants to enter the job market. That includes the basic vocational skills necessary for work and techniques to overcome the barriers people with disabilities face entering the job market.

For our participants interested in furthering their love of learning beyond high school, we partnered with Brookdale Community College to provide a 3-year college program.

Advocating for rights

Our work does not stop there. We are continually lobbying for the rights of people with I/DD locally and nationally.

On an individual level, our staff and case managers advocate for the rights of individuals who may not be aware of or have been denied financial and support services they are entitled to.
