Work Readiness Achievement Program
Enriching the lives of those with IDD through empowerment and education is one of our missions at The Arc of Monmouth. The Work Readiness Achievement Program (WRAP) was developed to work towards that mission. WRAP will teach individuals valuable, tech savvy skills which will give them the confidence to pursue opportunity. It is our objective for this program to help participants forge the skills needed to achieve successful employment in their community.
WRAP will give participants hands on experience with valuable technical skills. By gaining experience with these skills, participants will be encouraged to seek employment opportunities pertaining to them. The value of these skills goes beyond employment, learning these skills will help boost the confidence of participants and allow them to achieve self advocacy. These skills include:
- Computer Skills
- Administrative Skills
- Culinary Arts
- Retail Skills
Participants will learn these skills in a safe and encouraging environment where their needs are taken into consideration. This approach we believe will provide participants with the best set of circumstances for them to learn.
Learning these valuable technical skills is only the beginning. Searching for and gaining competitive employment is arguably a more challenging task that requires a number of well refined soft skills. For this reason, we also will focus on helping our participants develop these vital soft skills. Soft Skills that will be covered include:
- Networking Skills
- Career Exploration
- Job Development Skills
- Communication/Social Skills
These skills will also enrich the everyday lives of participants.
Individual WRAP (iWrap) is one on one work readiness achievement skills with modules, goals, and progression. This highly customizable program is dedicated to attaining individual goals.

I can’t imagine what our lives would be like without The Arc. They provide everything we could need or hope for, for our daughter. They know where we need to go and how we need to get there so that we can help Dani have the best life!
